Continued COVID-19 Protocols

Though the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, the COVID-19 virus, and other viruses like the flu, are still around. To help keep the campus community healthy, follow these protocols and remember to wash your hands often.

If you feel sick with symptoms of COVID-19, you should:

  • Complete a COVID-19 test. At-home COVID tests are available for free in the Student Health Center. (Note: The COVID-19 reporting form is no longer in use, and members of the campus community are not required to report a positive diagnosis to the University).
  • Seek medical assistance if you experience severe illness or prolonged symptoms. Contact your healthcare provider or the Student Health Center for direction on care and isolation protocols, as applicable. Information on care instructions and isolation parameters can also be found on the SHC website.
  • Wear a mask. You should consider wearing a mask and reducing contact with others if you feel sick or test positive for COVID-19 or the flu.

If you need to Isolate, you should:

On-campus students

  • Return home if at all possible. If you are unable to go home, you will need to isolate in place.

Off-campus students

  • Isolate in your off-campus apartment or return home if you are able.

If you are an on-campus student and need to obtain food, you should:

  • Order food directly using the delivery robots or fill out the sick meal form, which allows students to identify a friend or neighbor to pick up a meal on their behalf. If a student does not have a friend or neighbor available to pick up their meal, they will be directed to contact Auxiliary Services, which will arrange delivery to the student’s residence hall. Note: A meal plan is required for the sick meal form option.

If you will miss work or class due to illness, you should:

  • Notify your faculty members and supervisors of your illness and your need to remain home. You should not attend class or report to on-campus work assignments if you are sick.

To avoid the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses, you should:

  • Stay up-to-date with boosters and vaccines. The Student Health Center is offering flu vaccines and COVID-19 boosters by appointment. For more information, or to schedule a vaccine, visit the Student Health Center’s website.
  • Wear a face mask when you feel sick. Face masks are not required on campus, however, any student who prefers to wear one to protect themselves and/or others from the spread of germs should feel free to do so. A disposable face mask may be picked up from the information desks in the Popp Martin Student Union and the Cone Center.
